The Inventory Controller will be responsible for managing the supply chain operations of the organization. This role will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the supply chain team, including inventory management, procurement and logistic. The Supervisor will be responsible for ensuring the smooth and efficient running of the supply chain, and for ensuring that the supply chain meets the needs of the organization. The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of supply chain operations, inventory control, excellent communication and organizational skills, and a proven ability to lead a team.

 

JOB DESCRIPTION & RESPONSIBILITY

  1. INVENTORY RECEIVER AND CHECKER

Directly Reports to the Inventory Controller

  • In-charge for the accuracy of transfer documents for the incoming and outgoing of inventories from the site and from purchase deliveries.
  • Ensure load accuracy at check in and check out by physically counting the inventory items.
  • Compare the transfer documents from the items received or transferred including serial numbers when present.
  • Assist on inventory physical count when necessary.
  • Inspect the quantity on hand by physical counting the inventory items versus the stock index.
  • Inform the stockman if inventory items falls below or over the minimum and maximum set quantities.
  • Prepare required reports by the operations manager
  • Shall assist on the purchasing function whenever the operations manager finds it necessary

2. PURCHASER

Shall report directly to the operations manager with the following duties and responsibilities:

  • Develop profitable purchasing strategies
  • Assess supplier profiles and analyze offers
  • Prepare and implement effective negotiation tactics
  • Manage relationships with key suppliers to maintain quality of goods, timely delivery and compliance to terms of contract
  • Review suppliers to ensure quality
  • Monitor stock levels
  • Prepare and submit detailed reports on purchases and buying expenditures
  • Keep updated records and ensure accuracy of information entered in IFS.
  • Assist in stock management in the absence of the stockman.

 

Key Performance Indicators:

  • Ensure the quality of the items purchases in accordance with the company standards
  • Delivery within the prescribed period
  • Compliance with regulatory/legal requirements 
  • Implementation of cost reduction savings by negotiation with suppliers

3. INVENTORY CONTROLLER 

Shall report directly to the Financial Controller with the following duties and responsibilities:

  • Verify if all items received, transferred and disposed are recorded on a timely basis;
  • Shall prepare monthly inventory reports including monthly rod counts, bit reports, mud consumption, and other inventory related reports as required by the corporate head office and branch office.
  • Manage all inventory control related activities according to the company’s policies and procedures
  • Prepare necessary inventory costings, valuations and other inventory adjustments
  • Perform a weekly inventory count for few random items.
  • Coordinate with the stockman or operations manager for the necessary information
  • Shall take charge of the semi-annual and annual inventory count
  • Ensure that the inventory controls are implemented in the Branch.
  • Verify inventory quantity by comparing it to the physical counts of stock versus system quantities, and investigate discrepancies or adjust errors

 

4. STOCKMAN

Shall report directly to the Operations Manager or Branch Manager with the following duties and responsibilities:

  • Receive and count stock items, and record data on the ERP system.
  • Pack and unpack items to be stocked on shelves in stockrooms, warehouses, or storage yards
  • Store items in an orderly and accessible manner in warehouses, tool rooms, supply rooms, or other areas; assign picking sequence as required.
  • Pick up incoming stock or to deliver parts to designated locations (when necessary)
  • Mark stock items using identification tags, stamps, electric marking tools, or other labeling equipment
  • Clean and maintain supplies, tools, equipment, and storage areas in order to ensure compliance with safety regulations
  • Issue or distribute materials, products, parts, and supplies to customers or coworkers, based on information from incoming requisitions
  • Prepare and maintain records and reports of inventories, price lists, shortages, shipments, expenditures, and goods used or issued Determine proper storage methods, identification, and stock location based on turnover, environmental factors, and physical capabilities of facilities
  • Keep records on the use and/or damage of stock or stock handling equipment
  • Examine and inspect stock items for wear or defects, reporting any damage to supervisors
  • Compile, review, and maintain data from contracts, purchase orders, requisitions, and other documents in order to assess supply needs
  • Provide assistance or direction to other stockroom, warehouse, or storage yard workers.
  • Confer with and purchasing officer and vendors regarding stock procurement and availability
  • Determine sequence and release of back orders according to stock availability
  • Dispose of damaged or defective items, or return them to vendors, if necessary
  • Prepare products, supplies, equipment, or other items for use by adjusting, repairing or assembling them as necessary
  • Recommend disposal of excess, defective, or obsolete stock
  • Shall take charge in recording  items into the ACCPAC system and ensure the quantities are accurate.
  • Travel to sites to assist in semi-annual physical count and during mobilization and demobilization of rigs to project sites.
  • Conduct Cycle counts on a monthly basis.

 

The successful applicant must have the following attributes, skills and experience:​

  • Candidate must possess at least bachelor’s degree in economics, Business Administration, Logistics, Supply Chain Management or related fields. 
  • Proficient in English language both in verbal and written.
  • Understanding of Export/Import procedures and holding certificated will be an advantage.
  • Held Senior position within Inventory and warehouse management for more than 5 – 8 years.
  • Worked history within mining industry preferred. 
  • Knowledge of supply chain processes, heavy equipment parts management, inventory management, warehousing, and logistics.
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Should be capable of working effectively under pressure and meeting established goals & objectives within the specific deadline.
  • Experience with ERP software, such as IFS, SAP, Oracle, or MS Dynamics
  • Preferably domicile in Bogor District or surrounding area.
  • Willing to be placed in Bogor, West Java
