Job Objective

The Key Account Manager (Indonesia) is tasked with achieving Sales & Distribution targets and enhancing distributor business processes to yield improved results. They are responsible for meeting category-specific targets, managing assigned portfolios, and creating forecasts and shipment plans. Additionally, this role involves developing and reviewing annual business plans with each distributor, encompassing revenue goals, tailored marketing strategies, product promotions, and overall presentations. The objective is to ensure that Vinda is perceived as the preferred partner by distributors.

You will play an essential role to:

  1. Develop a field territory operational plan, setting objectives, goals, strategies, and measurements to achieve competitively superior growth and market share performance, exceeding sales and expense control targets.
  2. Build a high-performance team by hiring high-quality distributor people, training, and developing them, providing ongoing coaching, and counseling, and retaining the best talent through motivation and recognition and making tough decisions on non-performers.
  3. Keep the sales team focused on bringing added value services to customers as a source of competitive advantage and a desire to win in the marketplace.
  4. Ensure strategic and tactical consistency, promotion effectiveness & efficiency.
  5. Analyze field area sales performance data and identify areas for improvement through superior implementation of the company’s Sales Force Effectiveness programs, understand and effectively implement programs to monitor, measure, and track sales projects.
  6. Show a deep understanding of store level and market conditions and address business and opportunities as needed.
  7. Build and maintain strong relationships with customers and distributors, to create a positive impact and change to company image and business goals.
  8. Work closely with the distributor on coverage, sales, and distribution plan and implementation.
  9. Develop an ongoing process to communicate store and market change to upper management.
  10. Develop strategies that maximize the distribution of product lines through complex distribution channels and possess the ability to analyze problems within the distribution channel. 
  11. Negotiate with key customers to ensure formulary access and profitability.
  12. Monitor A & P and understand the importance of financial against results to determine the worth of investment.

To be successful in this role, you will need to have:

  • Degree in Business, Marketing, or relevant discipline from a reputable University.
  • At least 5 years of sales experience in the FMCG industry, Key Accounts / Trade Marketing, and e-commerce experience in the FMCG industry (preferably with MNC companies) and a minimum of 2 years in management.
  • Good, in-depth, and practical understanding of the fundamentals of sales & marketing operations and the understanding of business processes would be an advantage.
  • Must be experienced in working with major FMCG distributors or as a principal representative handling distributors. Strong operation skills & knowledge of know-how on import/export terms and processes. Experience in handling the whole Indonesia market will be value added.
