COMMUNICATION SPECIALIST (Agency contractor)

PURPOSE

Provide expertise and support for the implementation of internal and external communication programs.
Work closely with BHP Billiton Corporate Communication and MetCoal External Affair in the implementation of communication programs.

CORE ACCOUNTABILITIES

Support IMC’s overriding commitment to HSEC and sustainable development
Coordinate the development of IMC communication and collateral materials
Create communication materials (key messages, Q/As etc) for IMC’s review and liaise with MetCoal External Affair and Group Communication for obtaining approval
Custodian of and maintain stakeholder engagement register
Maintain repository of press releases and articles
Conduct analysis of press releases and articles related to IMC and BHP Billiton in Indonesia
Ensure compliance to GLD 24 (Public Affair)
Engage and manage consultants
Implementing Communication Plan

QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS / ABILITIES

Degrees in Communication, Marketing, Social Science or similar
Sound understanding of Indonesian mining regulatory framework
Experience (>5 years) in communication
Proven record of successfully communication programs
Ability to write reports, business correspondence and general communication materials
Posses a demonstrated use of intermediate computer operations (Microsoft programs, basic designing/graphics, photo manipulation etc)
Experience in mining projects is preferred
Experienced in media is preferred
Ability to communicate effectively in both verbal and written formats
Highly motivated self-starter with technical and personal initiative
Proven administration and prioritisation skills.
Self directed but possess interpersonal skills necessary to develop productive relationships with a diversity of people, across all levels
Diligence and persistence in promoting the best options.
Ability to communicate effectively to diverse audiences (e.g. management, technical specialists, and operators).
